Love Mexico, the experts in Mexican destination weddings and romance, recently held a gala dinner at the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa where they announced their new partnership with NexusTours. This partnership will allow NexusTours to expand into the group excursions market for weddings.
“This is a great partnership for NexusTours both nationally and internationally,” said Ruben Gutierrez, NexusTours Managing Director, “We have had contact with several travel agencies and wedding planners, and have begun to send groups to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Grand Bahamas, and Mexico. The customer feedback has been wonderful.”
Gustavo Molinari, Corporate Director of MICE & Weddings, said “We had some great icons of the tourism industry participate in Love Mexico such as Exclusive Group Travel, Vacation Express and the Tourism Board of Mexico. NexusTours has already reached out to some of these travel veterans and has established contact with around 200 travel agents, 120 suppliers and 20 hotel chains. We have also laid the foundation for close cooperation and strategic promotion with the organizers of Love Mexico and The Real Travel Show, MeWed, who, in turn, have important agreements with agencies specializing in the weddings and romance market.”
Mexico hosts 26% of destination weddings departing from the United States and Canada. Destinations such as Bahamas, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic represent a total of 45% of the global wedding tourism market. Currently, NexusTours operates in all four countries and additionally operates in nine of the top wedding destinations in the world.
Today, 35% of NexusTours MICE & Weddings operations correspond to wedding tourism coming from Sunwing Vacations, Signature Vacations, and Luxe Destination Weddings. The recent inclusion of Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts is expected to increase this percentage throughout 2016.
